How Does it Operate?
To test loose stones, use one hand to push down the latch to separate the test probe from the platform. While holding down the latch, rotate the test platform to select a suitable slot to place the stone. Place the stone into the slot and slowly release the latch to allow the probe to contact the table of the stone. Close the lid and press the POWER/TEST button to begin testing.
To test mounted jewelry, use one hand to push down the latch to separate the test probe from the platform. Place the mounted jewelry with the other hand onto the test platform. Slowly release the latch to allow the probe to contact the table of the mounted stone. Close the lid and press the POWER/TEST button to begin testing.
The VISTA makes a measurement and displays one of the following results:
- Natural Diamond
- Type II Diamond
The Gemlogis VISTA Natural Diamond Segregator was tested in accordance with the Diamond Verification Instrument Standard with the test protocol for instruments that separate diamonds from synthetic diamonds (Operation Category 1).
The tests took place at the independent laboratory UL in Canton, Massachusetts, United States. The Gemlogis VISTA does not require manual interpretation and the instrument was tested with a novice operator. The detailed test results can be found in the summary report issued by UL. The VISTA was tested with the ASSURE Core Sample.
The UL test report including more detailed test results can be found here.
