Lions and Zebra are red list winners

The Red List is a globally recognised tool to categorise the risk of extinction for the world’s species. South Africa’s Mammal Red List, part funded by De Beers, has recently relisted the African Lion and the Cape Mountain Zebra as ‘Least Concern’ down from their previous status of ‘Vulnerable’, mainly as a result of their population growth on game farms and wildlife ranches.
