Newsletter spotlights top conservation research

The Diamond Route, February 2018
This 10-page issue of the Diamond Route newsletter features summaries of papers presented at the 8th Annual Oppenheimer De Beers Group Research Conference held in Johannesburg last autumn. The research was carried out by leading environmentalists and academics on the Group’s conservation areas around its mines in southern Africa and Canada. The Diamond Route is a series of seven properties in South Africa and Botswana owned by De Beers Group, totalling 180,000 hectares. The Group manages six and a half hectares for conservation for every one used for mining operations.
