Rio Tinto, PM’s department fight domestic violence

Financial Review, March 2018
Rio Tinto and Australian Prime Minister, Malcolm Turnbull’s, federal department have stepped up long-term commitments to stopping violence against women, receiving milestone accreditation from Australia’s White Ribbon campaign.  Rio Tinto’s managing director Australia Joanne Farrell said the company was proud to “be the first resources firm to receive White Ribbon accreditation. “We realize safety at work needs to be augmented by safety at home, and we believe accreditation would support our desire to have a culture of respect and gender diversity. It’s both a business outcome and a responsibility to our employees and our communities”.
