Each year, Dominion Diamond provides funding to community schools to fund school initiatives such as cultural programs, literacy programs, healthy snack programs, positive behavioural support programs, and wellness programs, to name a few. Students from Chief Jimmy Bruneau Regional School in Behchoko enjoyed traditional on-the-land activities with funding from Dominion Diamond.

Petra provides a teacher support programme at its Koffiefontein mine in South Africa.

Farm owner Tshimangazo Mercy Rambuda was assisted by De Beers’ Zimele fund to buy and equip her farm near Nwansdi. The farm employs 10 local people and produces vegetables and maize which is all sold locally.

Dominion Diamond Corporation supports the Breakfast for Learning program, which provides resources to school nutrition programs that improve the ability of students to focus and perform in the classroom.

Dominion’s support is having a lasting impact on the lives of children and youth in forty-eight schools in the Northwest Territories and two schools in Kugluktuk, Nunavut. The children use the nutrition programs each school day, providing them with a head start for years to come.

Dominion Diamond supports the Side Door Youth Centre in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories which provides quality support services to youth in need of a safe place to stay at night when there is nowhere else to go. The program provides laundry and shower facilities and employs staff who are trained to provide counseling, guidance and direction to the youth.

ALROSA organizes regular sports activities and events for the company’s workers and their families. Each year  more than 10,000 people participate in various sports groups.

ALROSA also sponsors the “Children of Asia” International Sports Games – an event held in Yakutia every four years under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee for children from across Asia in order to promote sport, to raise awareness of the ideals of the Olympic movement ideas and to enhance international cooperation.
